Exhibiting at the 13th Euretina Congress, the Angiogenesis Foundation invites visitors to explore its new multimedia resources on diabetic macular edema and central retinal vein occlusion.
HAMBURG, Germany, Sept 26, 2013– The nonprofit Angiogenesis Foundation today launched two novel multimedia campaigns—the Science of DME and the Science of CRVO— at the 13th Euretina Congress in Hamburg, Germany. These campaigns address the knowledge gap for two of the world’s common causes of vision loss: diabetic macular edema (DME) and central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO).
The Science of DME and the Science of CRVO are the first resources for patients and their caregivers that offer clear descriptions of DME and CRVO development, diagnosis and treatment, and that provide an authoritative explanation of anti-VEGF therapy, which has shifted the paradigm for treating these conditions.
“There has been very little information available for patients suffering from DME or CRVO—until now. The resources we are launching are comprehensive, easy-to-understand, and are designed to empower patients to learn about their condition and to take an active role in working with their doctors to coordinate their care,” commented Dr. William Li, President and Medical Director of the Angiogenesis Foundation.
Features of the multimedia campaigns include:
• Information— Educational content describes the development, testing, diagnosis, treatment options and clinical outcomes for DME and CRVO
• Visuals— Illustrations bring the content to life and facilitate understanding
• Resources— Links connect users to other sources that guide patients in managing their condition
